Our day

Here at Pound Lane Daycare we realise the importance of learning through play, so a big part of what we do is open ended free play. The children are able to and encouraged to use there imaginations with our extensive resources. 

Pound Lane Daycare ensure that all learning is fun and in accordance with EYFS guidance. Each child is seen as an individual and staff strive to ensure that they can express themselves and learn to be self confident in a happy and secure environment.
Alongside free play we have teacher led activities that the children can join in with. These are planned around children’s interests and are all designed to stimulate your child’s learning. We find the children thrive from working with our teachers. We cover a wide range of topics in our curriculum, and we ensure that activities are challenging and engaging. We strongly encourage and support diversity and cultural appropriation.

We have garden time whatever the weather so getting wet and muddy is a strong possibility… but its something the children love! Our gardens are full of fun and exciting things for the children to do including bug hunts, balancing beams, water play, sports and much more. 

Because we are lucky enough to be based in Devon we are able to go to the beach and parks regularly and we take full advantage of these opportunities to let the children explore our beautiful area.
We also understand that some times a child needs some down time, so we have made quiet areas available in all rooms.
We have a sleep room available with cots and sleep mats. 

We follow guidance from the lullaby trust.
